Not every dining table out there is perfect for you. In fact, many will be completely wrong in so many ways. One of the things we come across a lot is a sizing issue, as well as finish. With lots of fantastic home interior magazines out on the market such as Ideal Home, Living Etc, Homes & Gardens and so on... Many people will see something they thing looks just perfect, however the price tag might be too large, or the size won't match. Or they may like the style, but not the finish.
To be in this situation is not uncommon. We all like to gather ideas and look at nice interior settings. So one of the things we like to do here at Modish Living, is help you make those ideas come true. We have a team dedicated to listening to your ideas. Several of our craftsmen have worked in the industry for over 40 years.
With any design, we would firstly advice you to look through as many pictures/magazines as you can. Either through printed magazines, or Pinterest, which is a fantastic place to help you gather ideas. Either way, collate the images in to one central place, and then narrow them down once you feel you've done enough research.
Some top tips:
Try and avoid heavy dark colours in small room with little sunlight. Tables may often not be cheap, so it's important to picture yourself in 2 years time, 5 years time and maybe even in 10 years time, around the table. Consider the amount of use it will get in this time. Will it be used for only a few people, or can you see yourself holding dinner parties or children's parties? Asking yourself these sort of questions can save you a lot of money in the long run. Often people can't fit a large 2 meter table in to their kitchen or dining room, so you may want to consider having table extensions.
If you're looking for a dining table made out of old reclaimed wood, then we would certainly be able to help guide you. Listening to our customers needs, even modifying some of our designs to meet our customers needs, is something we love to do. We have no restrictions on finish, size or design. Ultimately, we will make whatever it is you want, as long as it's made using either reclaimed wood or sustainably sourced oak.
