Who Are Modish Living?
Modish Living is a family run company tucked away on the Sussex Coast in Brighton.
It is run by husband and wife team, Hellen and Chris Barlow and has been trading since 2011. Hellen trained as a furniture upholsterer and so has worked with furniture for many years. Her Scandinavian origins are often reflected in the designs we offer. Chris is an operations specialist and ensures a smooth experience from order to delivery and beyond.
We have 3 guiding principals in our business.
- To offer the best luxury designs we can find! We do this through travelling the world to meet crafts people, making sure we offer a high quality at all times.
- We strive to make our products using responsibly sourced materials, and from ethically-responsible manufacturers.
- To provide excellent customer service so that our customers are as delighted by their experience as they are with their purchase.
What Does Modish Living Do?
We are an online business and we supply many reclaimed and sustainable furniture designs to the public and to interior designers. We work with a number of craftsmen and suppliers, and we bring together the widest range of reclaimed furniture in the UK!
Many of our products are hand made in the UK by our skilled craftsmen using old reclaimed wood. Designers such as Roger, has been working with wood and making furniture for 40 years. All our UK designers seek out the highest quality reclaimed timber and personally select the pieces to work with. We don’t work with scaffolding planks and pallets. Only the highest quality beams and roof trusses, which are often in excess of 100 years old. 
Do you supply furniture from other countries?
Every piece we offer has been selected for its quality as well as being fully sustainable. Many of them are made form reclaimed timber. And if not, we ensure our manufacturers only use woods from sustainable sources. For example our Mango Wood ranges which are a bi-product of the thriving Mango trade, offer a beautiful and sustainable alternative to endangered hardwoods.
